My work is born from the physical sensation of water—its suspension, its silence, the way it dissolves weight and boundaries. I paint as if I were breathing underwater, letting my gestures follow the slow, profound movement of the sea.Immersion, for me, is an inner passage. Each canvas becomes a space where emotions rise like currents: sometimes subtle, sometimes sudden, but always authentic. Water becomes a psychological environment before it is a natural one—an inner landscape where everything is amplified and simplified at the same time. Nature is not just a subject; it is an extension of myself. I work with the sea because it is the only element that allows me to truly listen—to what I feel, to what I remember, and to what I cannot yet express. My paintings do not depict water; they embody it. They are surfaces that invite viewers to slow down, to submerge, and to be touched by what usually remains invisible. ​​

Stefania Posa is a self-taught contemporary painter based in Sicily. Her practice is rooted in an intimate and physical connection with the sea, exploring underwater abstraction through layered surfaces, fluid movements and meditative chromatic transitions. Her work reflects the psychological condition of immersion and is collected privately in Italy.​
